Anniversary of the death of Saint Stanislaus

On the anniversary of the death of Saint Stanislaus, our knights in Carinthia organised a memorial service at a place steeped in history.
The Polish King Boleslaw II found his final resting place in Ossiach Abbey.
King Boleslaw murdered Bishop Stanislaus in a power struggle.
The story goes that the bishop carried his severed body parts to the city gates of Krakow before collapsing dead.
Because the bishop was very popular with the people, King Boleslaw had to leave the country to save his life and set off for Rome to do penance to the Pope in person.
However, he only made it as far as Ossiach and lived there as a monk until his death. On his deathbed, he confessed to his brothers who he really was and what he had done.
This is therefore a very historic place for our order.
Something very special is already being planned for next year.
We can already say this much, SaveTheDate – 12.04.2025!
A big thank you to Mrs Birgit Schatz, who captures the special moments of our events with her fantastic photos.
